i’ve been here three times now so i figured it was time to write an official review. the first time i went it was for happy hour w/ some friends. what keeps me going back besides the close location to my home? the white sangria… delish and very summery. it’s homemade and they call it the ultimate beach beverage (too bad i can’t take that pitcher and walk myself to the beach!) in the 3 times i’ve been, i’ve tried the tuna tartare & guacamole, spicy shrimp & king crab sushi roll and the turkey meatloaf… the latter i had to try since it comes with “mushroom party gravy.” yea, you read that right – mushroom PARTY, and a party in my mouth it was. everything i’ve had was satisfying. the turkey meatloaf dish was a little too mas – size-wise – but i guess that’s just a part of being in america, the ginormous portions. they are very cute with their menu… some of their headings and descriptions are fun – as well as the atmosphere. simply decorated and always busy (they take opentable.com reservations for dinner btw) with random artwork that sparks interesting conversation. one being a big canvas w/ the word YES on it and another w/ a date (i think it was september something 09 – which later i learned is the date they are going to be introducing pizza to their menu.) they have an outdoor patio as well as low and high top tables – a nice mix of seating choices which makes it nice if you end up being a frequent customer. twice i’ve had the same waiter – who reminds me of the muscle-y street dancers i saw in brazil – who is very nice, but the last time i was there was charged $91.71 – $44.85 OVER the actual $46.86… and to think that i gave him an extra tip. well i gave him the extra tip b/c i had said that i wanted one bite of a cookie when offered dessert and he came back with a full warm cookie “on him.” so maybe it wasn’t his fault, but 12 days after i learned that they over charged me (19 days after the date dined) it still hasn’t been resolved. an 8am call from darren this morning told me that he’d handle it today – we’ll see. so i know i’ll be going back since on their menu they have the “best burgers – voted on by us” which i think is funny & clever… i’ll just pay cash next time.

*note added 7/27 | darren was really nice and apologized for the mistake and delay in getting my refund. he said he was going to send me a gift card for my troubles. he said since they were new, they had to get used to the systems etc., either way that was nice of him so i’ll be able to go back and try that burger
